3D linux?

Question:
Ive seen on online video where you can use linux and own like 4 diffrent desktops that you can spin around and it looks really polite where can I draw from it and what linux do i need?

Answers:
There are a few linux distros that point 3d graphics. The three most notable are (Open)SuSE, Ubuntu, and Fedora. From experience (I use OpenSuSE both at home and at work) OpenSuSE is the most evolve. The key is that your graphics card 100% HAS to support 3d graphics AND be supported by Linux. Nvidia and ATI are the 2 best supported cards within Linux and both companies have a linux driver to tag on 3d support. (you will need to download the driver from the net sites.) Without the driver (which are NOT Open Source) then 3d will not work.
The 2 3d Managers are call Beryl and Compiz. Make sure either or both are installed.
With any of the 3 distros you hold to get the hottest version (OpenSuSE 10.2, Ubuntu 6.10, Fedora Core 6) to find the best support.
Good Luck.
That's called Xgl. It's resembling an alternate desktop environment type thing. It's most commonly used next to the new OpenSuse (10.2). It's really dutiful stuff. I tried to use it with my OpenSuse 10.2, but it wouldn't work for me. I'm pretty sure it's kinda still contained by beta testing. But that be awhile ago. Anyways. You can get it from the OpenSuse website. I'll bequeath you the link. Just label sure you read all the requirements, because your computer might not be flawless enough to run it (which I presume is why it didn't work for me). Have fun!

PS: Did I mention that it's all completely free? I love Linux. There are a few other ones, similar to Xandros, but that's like a hundred bucks.
