20+ year infirm sony tv set?
Question: one of my neighbours has a 20+ year aged sony TV, it has solely had one small repair, is it highly unusual for a sony tv set to last this long or are sony TVs especially reliable?
Answers:
I'd be surprised they "used it every day"...20 years on a Sony really doesn't surprise me, on the other hand it does.
That's a pretty good picture tube they hold.
My Mitsubishi PTV lasted 18 years, and it one and only needed the video amplifier to fix it, unfortunately that piece was bygone, so I had to buy a strange TV set..
Sony TVs are probably one of the best TVs out there. As for the reliability, they do come across to require some work as they age, but very little over the lifetime of the TV.
If tvs are very well taken care of, they ending for a while. RIght now we hold a 46 and 60 inch Sonys in my house. But within the basement are a few 32, and 29 inch Sonys and Toshibas that are roughly speaking 20 years old. But yeah, definitely I love Sony.I got so abundant of their products...
I had a panasonic that I give away. It's over 20 and still running strong.

We single have one telly surrounded by the house which is an 18 year old Sony. It in recent times keeps on going the picture is still great, nouns good etc, so never considered varying it. My friends have upgraded to newer more fancy models lone to find they konk out after about five years. One be told by sales guy contained by John Lewis that they are built to last five years solitary, and recommended she take out the five year guarantee on any tentative telly she bought as it would probably die before the guarantee and she would win a replacement. Hows that for a sales drumbeat!!
