(Deaf people) My audible range aid won't stop whistle! Any concept why?

Question:
I used to where two audible range aids but one got so doomed to failure cos it whistled adjectives the time i had to stop wearing it. Now I solitary wear 1 and it's just as unpromising. Even on the lowest volume it still whistles similar to mad! it's doing my cranium in, it's so damn annoying! can someone please enlighten me how to stop it. ta.

Answers:
oh boy do I have experience on this one seeing as my husband wear 2 and when he "whistles" drive me insane.

the reason for the wistle is nouns into the aid, it will do this if you hold it in your mitt or put it by an electronic device (outside the ears)

anyway... you either have need of new tubes or investigational ear fittings (assuming its a behind the ear aid) Its what my husband have .. I would imagine if its one of the smaller surrounded by the ear or canal aids afterwards you have an tasteless fit as well. The aids rely on a tight fit and if your aid or tubing is lose it will whistle

hope it help ...
I'm not too sure, I'm not a doctor or anything, but the battery could be fruitless.
Mine whistles if I hold the volume set too high, try turning yours down a bit...if that doesn't work next try changing the freestyle, and if that doesn't work you will have to move about back to where on earth you got it from and hold them change the settings..

I don't rate my digital one that outstandingly... prefer the older one. This one have been set so that when I use my loop at home I can still hear populace speaking in matching room as me...the old one be just set for the loop.much better! Guess I will enjoy to get the settings changed on mine...
I have an idea that the batteries obligation changing this happen with my father contained by laws and when the battery were changed it stopped whistle. Go back to your ent dr to return with them changed
Hi there, it usually mechanism that you need to adapt the battery or the audible range aid itself doesn't fit properly, but try the battery first.
Good luck
my son's friend have a similar problem with whistle hearing aid, near his it is wen the aid is not correctly in the ear.hope this help's
I know it can be drastically annoying. It can give you a headache.

Take it final to get it fixed. It is not supposed to do that. You said you hold it on low volume. That is what was going to be my suggestion. If it still whisles (high pitch noise) after it is either its poorly made or electronics own gone bad.

My grandpa used to wear it. I could hear his audible range aid across the room. But my grandpa is a cheapie. He picked it up at a garage sale. He is a legitimate penny pincher. He is dead and gone in a minute, but we used to tell him why he is so stingy at his dated age We bought good ones for him but he won't wear them so that he can free on batteries.!!. May he rest surrounded by peace.

Turn it down, way approach down. See if that helps.
Assuming the aid isn't broken, it is promising that you have poorly fitting ear molds or some other issue (such as vent being too large) cause the feedback even at low volume levels. You don't mention whether you hold a BTE aid or not, CIC and ITE aids have more feedback problems than BTE aids because the microphone is so close. Many digital audible range aids have feedback contradiction programs. Check with your audiologist to see if yours have one or not. If it does, it may not be properly programmed.
What kind of audible range aid is it? Is it an in the ear model or a Behind the ear model? if it is BTE next it could be whistling for several reason, either it the mold/tube requests cleaned out, or it is not attached properly (this happens adjectives the time with mine, I own a thin tube BTE model audible range aid and if it is not in my ear lately right it whistles every time I move) They will also whistle if the programing is not exactly right, so you may want to consult beside your audiologist if it does not stop whistling after you verbs it out and try adjusting it contained by your ear.
If it is an In the ear model, I am sorry I have no experience next to those and could not really help you, I merely know the BTE ones because that is what I enjoy.
Go back to your audible range professional and tell them give or take a few the problem.

With behind the ear audible range aids it could be that the tube has become brittle or elderly and simply needs to be replaced (this should be free or smaller quantity than $10). It could also be that the mold itself is not fitting probably any more. This could be after weight loss or basically that the mold has worn for a moment bit. You can usually get a contemporary set of molds for less than $150.

The final possibility is that you hold a blockage of the outer ear or an infection in the middle ear cause fluid to make the ear drum smaller quantity pliable. In either baggage your regular doctor should be able to help out. If you have wax contained by your ear, the sound will bounce sour that instead of being wrapped up by the ear drum. This bouncing effect will cause feedback of the audible range aids.

It could be any of these issues, and any competent hearing professional should be capable of determine which one it is.
