Hi Michelle...an 18 year old cat may not possible take to have a rambunctious kitten climbing all over your cat may be more detrimental than devoted, and people own a tendency to focus on the young-looking cat and ignore the elder one. Senior cats are very set within their ways and it would be more honourable to allow her to live out her days with the comfort and routine she/he is already accustomed to have.

Actually, I've had like peas in a pod problem (almost, my cat was three) it really isn't that impossible. Just let them skulk it out and get to know respectively other, I'm sure they'll get along!

As long as you introduce them gradually, the kitten should enjoy no problems adjusting, the elder cat may take a week or so but if you consent to it have it's space and adjust slowly to the hypothesis, they are usually just fine.
it depends on the temperment of your elder cat. they'll go through the dominance battle, that's a given. kittens will always want to PLAY PLAY PLAY and it may irritate your elder cat.
if you do get the kitten, hold on to it in it's own room for a few days so that it feel it has a nouns. then slowly introduce your kitty to each other. the elder cat, no matter how much he protests, probably won't execute the kitten, but he'll let it know who's boss and see how it go from there.

good notion . as long as u dont let the kitten climb adjectives over your older cat, and clear sure you give plenty of attention to the elder one as well, so it doesnt consistency pushed out...it might even make the elder cat stay young contained by its ways!!
I think that you might be better sour adopting a duet of kittens, preferably from the same litter. That instrument, the kittens can keep respectively other company and play with respectively other, and leave the senior alone when she doesn't want to play. If not, the kitten will probably want to play beside the older cat adjectives day long, and won't realize that she get worn out much easier.

Bad. Your cat will be mad that you brought someone into her house. Your cat will pulsate the crap out of the kitten. Your cat will ruin your things and pee all over your house. If you can concord with this for a couple months, it might work. GOod luck.
bleak idea. we did it and he categorically hated it and totally changed and hide upstairs to get away from him... it be so upsetting and we felt so guilty x
that depends on your elder cat. If it is still playful and full of energy after yes get a unusual one. However if your older cat is not adjectives playful it will not be a good theory to get a spanking new kitty at this time.

It really depends on the cat and kitten contained by question. Some cats prefer to be single kitties. Others don't mind have little scamps to play beside.
Good idea. I concluded up getting my 2-year-old tomkat a little girl kitten so he could be entertain when my husband and I weren't home. At first he was for a moment teritorrial, but once he realized that she wasn't a threat, he be fine with it. Now their the best of friends!
It,s hit and miss if the elder one show maternal instinct it will mother the unusual born, or will treat it as a threat. sorry best I can do with my experiences near cats(the younger the better, after it is weaned)

Maybe you should enjoy waited and permit your old cat live out its second while in peace.It's approaching putting a toddler to live with an 80year outdated it isn't fair.I own 3 elderly cats and wouldn't get a kitten while they are still alive better to attain an older cat that isn't so boisterous.

discouraging idea. elder cat will be used to having home to itself and obligation peace at that age. also kitten will need hot friend when older one is no longer near you
We introduced a kitten to our older cat and yes near were lots of battle between them and im sure the kitten irritated the hell out of the older cat at times. However near the right treatment and time they actually grew to first tolerate respectively other and then in truth get on. In reality the kitten made the older cat more stirring and they would often be found together any outside or sat together when inside. If nought else it is company for the older cat and normally brings out paternal instincts.

i enjoy a 14yr old manly cat and i got a kitten, they tolerate respectively other most of the time but when the kitten is feeling playful he will pounce on the elder one which would be like a minor jumping adjectives over an old man, not unbelievably nice, but kittens are irressidable.
