Mine does all the time and I used to deliberate it was because he be cold, but even in the hot summer time he is surrounded by bed with me. I deliberate it is a comfort thing, he like to be near me at adjectives times. He is so cute, lil poppy :)

Because dogs are pack animals- they like to be close to you contained by a group..however, you should not allow your dog to sleep in your bed. It creates boundary and dominance issues. You should solely let your dog on your bed when you invite him up.

maybe its get to do with trust,but I wouldnt consent to my dog on my bed.my dog likes his own wee bed.

Dogs enjoy a ranking system in the natural he is showing you his dominance by sleeping on you re bed by doing this they show you that you are not up at the top of this ranking system called the alpha masculine and he does not show you any respect by doing this either
wouldn't you want to sleep on a huge bed where on earth you can sprawl out :-) I think they see us doing it and want to do doesn`t matter what we do
Dogs, although recognising you as master/mistress will always strive to arrive at dominance, or at least equality. Your bed have an elevated status and is clearly the province of the 'master' class. A dog is naturally drawn to this.
It may of late be that it's comfortable!
Because, in the blustery, the pack tries to sleep close to the Alpha. Being allowed in the Alpha's sleeping nest is a decoration of honor. The closer to the Alpha a dog sleeps, the higher its ranking contained by the "pack"
You know I think explicitly a place they feel not detrimental at night, or conceivably they think they are protecting you contained by their own way. I think in attendance are a few reasons. My dog is irrelevant on the bed, there is a short time ago not room. But Every Night she tries to sneak up on the bed. I think she requests on the bed because she wants to be adjacent to us. She Always wants to be On Top of us whenever we are sitting down. And I also ruminate the bed is more comfortable for her. She does have a severely nice dog bed, which is comfortable. But our bed has extra lining, soft blankets, warm bodies... And my closing one is just a guess. It might be a dominant entry. They might want to be on the bed because it is higher up than the floor, and that can sometimes be associated near dominance in a dog.
Because they are within constant need to exert their dominance on the weaker pack member and they find those members here on the race who let them do it. If the populace here knew anything around pack drive and the damage they result in their animals by allowing them on their beds, this would not come about. And, no, it's not because they want to protect you from the "bad guys" as frequent people here believe.
It depends really. For some it's a dominance point, they sleep with their owner because they quality that their owner is theirs and that they are the leader of the pack (the overnight case when a dog is over-protective or possissive of someone). Sometimes it can be a comfort thing as all right. It can also be because of their bond with their owner.
I'm sure there's several reasons, but unanimously it isn't a good thought to allow the dog to sleep in the bed unless they're invited up into the bed after the owner is already settled and in position for the dog to be up there. As mentioned until that time, boundary and dominance issues can result from a dog who sleeps with their owner within bed.
They see you (their owner) as the pack leader and pack mentality dictates they should sleep next to the leader to extend protection from predators or protect the resting space when the leader is not surrounded by it.
It's a move to elevate their status to top-dog. Don't let your dog sleep on your bed, your couch or your bench. Get them their own bed and put it on the floor.
It is strictly a dominance move and I have a dozen different stories from students that be attacked and nearly attacked when they returned to their own bed after a 2 AM potty run and tried to move the dog back over to his/her own side. It's not a thrilled moment in the middle of the dark with individual your PJ's between you and a set of canine teeth.
Put the dog on the floor.
