because cat can help you to confine fish and then you will own both.
Cats are nice. They are loving but you have to remember that when you enjoy a cat, you belong to them.... not the other way around!! Because specifically how cats see it, they will bring you presents from time to time of dead mice or birds, it is within their nature so if you don't want a 'Godfather' pet that brings home headless animals, don't own a cat!!
A fish is cool though cos you can instruct it tricks to do at parties...
e.g... ring up it Bob, and when your friends come over, you can show them how the fish says his own label (watch it's mouth and he will say it!!)
They are especially calming to examine but they can get expensive and large maintenance if you opt for the more tropical form.
If this is a serious question you will hold to look at your lifestyle to chose the best pet for you.

depends what you want from a pet. cats are heat up and snuggly, can show you affection.and bring you great happiness. if you take a cat you might want to make sure it stays indoors. cats that turn out can bring in fleas,drag surrounded by dead rodents, and that can become a problem. i also enjoy fish and they are o.k. but i don't love them like i do my cats.
A dog - isn't that really why you put this sound out under that category?!
