"Kieran" for my newborn son's describe?

Question:
I have other loved the name Kieran since I be a little girl. Now that I enjoy a little boy to label, I thought Kieran would be nice. However, I live in the US and it's a terrifically unusual name. People don't seem to be to be able to pronounce it (doesn't give the impression of being too tough to me!) and think that it sounds too feminine. I know it's more adjectives in UK and Ireland, so I'd close to some feedback from those who know more about the describe. What do you think of it? Does it own nicknames? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Kieran's Mom (possibly)

Answers:
I own a friend called Keiran..he's Irish and here I think it is relatively popular and middle class...in England.. I would influence it's more of a lower class name..a touch chavvy ( white trash) but as your son is going to grow up in the US, afterwards that doesn't matter as it will diverge. Good luck with your wind up choice

The only point people might focus it sounded girly in the US is propably because they've hear of Keira Knightly or Keira Sedgewick..but In Britain it isn't considered girly at all. : )
YOur son will be bested on a dailly basis. I would influence do it
its sounds pretty girly to me maybe you should put aside the name for your subsequent kid
yes it's typically Irish...i think it's really nice...it perchance unusual in the states...but at least possible your not calling him something like Pluto or repute or some of the weird name they pick for children nowadays..
i dream up its a nice name and terribly masculine if u want to name ur child that go ahead and dont bother next to what others say
I dream up its a really nice name, and if he suits it consequently go for it. I know 2 guys call kieran, one is 25 (and very masculine)and the other 6 months. I don't know ny nickname tho... Congratulations
sounds like a douche product...
Name your kid doesn`t matter what you want. BUT, please remember that whatever you choose, the guy is going to be stuck next to it for 80 years or so. Generally, I would avoid names that will plausible be made fun of by other kids or that are hard to spell when you pronounce them. If it be me naming a male child, I wouldn't pick this first name.
I only know one Kieran. I go to elementary, MS, and HS with him. Although a few substitutes accidently call him "Karen", most peope liked his identify. I remember hearing society give him compliments for it regularly. Some people might mess it up (but that go for even the most common of name sometimes) but once they hear it, they will most likely remember it. Plus, there's an performer Kieran Culkin. Maybe they will know how to pronounce it because of him.
It reminds me of Kiran Chetry...it's a girl's name.
Maybe you should meditate of another name but you could enjoy Kieran as his middle name.
I suggest it's a great name and not at adjectives feminine. My friends grandson is called Kieran and he isn't a bit feminine and it really suits him.Go for it.
Kieran may be a cool label in the UK and Ireland but here contained by the States, it's like disappearing your son a legacy of getting picked on and overwhelmed. They'll call him Karen and be paid fun of his girly name and even though it will build his qualities, he will hate you for it and probably loop up using his middle name.

Unless you come from a clan of overmuscled giants, his destiny is that of a bespectacled, skinny runt self bullied for eternity, or at least until he comes out of the closet at 18 and tell you how happy he is that you chose such a 'theatrical' label for him.

A good soubriquet for a boy named Kieran is 'Whipping Boy'

Other than that, I have a sneaking suspicion that it's a great name...

...for a girl.
I love it! It is not at adjectives feminine. Its really different, but I think specifically much better. I don't like adjectives names for obsession names. Way put money on when I had my son I name him Tyler and it was unheard of. Now they are everyfreakin where on earth. If I were not too old-fashioned to have another infant I might steal that name from you LOL.
Love love love this moniker! Yes, I am American (unfortunately). It can also be spelled Ciaran. Either way, general public will probably say it wrong.

Even my own parents influence "Liam" as limb...gratitude to the annoying southern accent. Name your child what you love, don't christen him something so that ignorant nation will be able to pronounce it.
You won't enjoy an qualms with me I adore the describe. key ah rawn or kee rawn, simply adorable.
I love that nickname sooooo much, My first child was call Kieran James while he was surrounded by my tummy then he be born a girl! (everyone told me i would have a boy, i wasnt self horrible lol) then next to my second child that IS a boy (we found out at the scan) I wanted to give the name him Kieran but OH hates the christen... so please call him Kieran, if I cant hold it then you should!!
my brother is call Kieran, he's 22, i think its an unsual moniker,he's a mans man so i would influence its a masculine describe, the only piece is he is called "key" alot for short
every Tom Dick and Harry is call Kieran call him Sue
nearby are different ways of spelling it . my nephew is a kieran, quite popular contained by UK , Manchester . i think the girls approach is spelt different but don't know how . sorry
I love the name. It mechanism dark one, so that's kinda creepy, but it's still an awesome pet name. Don't know any nicknames for it, though. I love the Celtic/Gaelic name, because I have one. If I ever enjoy a little boy, I want to label him Kieran.

Congratulations on going to have a little one!!
I LOVE THAT NAME!! I think its adorable and cute! I love it. I love different name but not too different that they are weird. That is a really cool moniker. I like Cameron also. It is a really upright name. Hope this help and congrats!
Yuck. If you call your son kieran he will die? You are gonna be the worst mother ever to hold walked the earth surface. All kierans smoke pot is that wat u want? huh? bloody stop wasting my time and suck a lemon. Call your son, son of a ***** ok?
Hope everying goes very well for you son of a bitches mummy xx
Kieran is a lovely name. If you're worried just about it, you could always spell it as "Keeran" to trade name it easier for others to pronounce. :-)
As someone from the US I don't think that this pet name is bad at adjectives. It's masculine and in truth getting popular. In 2005 it was planned at #573 for males. While its not overly popular which is a good entry (do we really need more Johns or Jeff's?) it's not unheard of. Chances are he will come together other guys with that term as he grows up. I love the name.

Leslie/Ashley.. not that is to say a girl name for a man.. and I've met some completely masculine men near those names as powerfully. I wouldn't base your son's cross on the responses from a bunch of teenagers (at least thats how the responses sounded)
My brother's dub is Kieran; he spells it Kieron. We have never shortened it -it be always Kieron. For a few years, he used the Irish spelling of Ciaran...very soon that would confuse citizens!!
One of my sons is called Killian, which is also a lovely autograph.
Ciaran was an Irish saint, probably a monk within the Wicklow area of Ireland and probably 5th or 6th century.
Don't listen to those that are distrustful about the designation. I think it's a lovely label, its used a fair bit here surrounded by Australia and we even had an Olympic swimmer call Keiran Perkins.

No offense to the USA but you guys usually name your kids the strangest name eg: Apple, Jet and Solie Moon Fry? what's that ? or you jumble 2 names together to try to construct something unique but lone make a mess and something that will be laugh at when the child is older.
Love the pet name and sod it ifs unusual does it matter its a obedient name
babe name for a boy. i have an irish friend named keegan. reminded me of him.
OMG! I love the mark Kieran. Even though it doesn't really sound approaching a really boyish name, it's pretty cool. I know this guy first name Kieran and he's really nice. My best friend is like gonna marry him!! Anyways, if you're really worried that it sounds too girly, after you should make that his middle christen.
I love that name. I don't regard as it's hard to pronounce at adjectives, but that's me. No matter what you mark your baby some idiot out in attendance will mess up the pronounciation. my sisters name is cassie, and thats pretty straightforward, but it get mispronounced "casey" from time to time. it happens to most everyone. Kieran is a great moniker. I wanted it for my infant, but my husband diddn't like it much. I right to be heard go for it!!
