My sons 1st birthday is on Friday, and I am having inherited over for the afternoon. All I am doing is a buffet, like mini sandwich, sausage rolls, mini pizzas, cocktail sausages, chicken wings, chicken nugget, crisps, mini Indian selection etc. I am trying to do things that my son can also guzzle, and his cousin who turned one 5 weeks ago. As for the cake I am not as adventurous as you! I have opt to get one from Tesco's and enjoy a picture of him printed on it. It's only more or less lb8.
I hope your little girl has a extremely happy 1st birthday!
Just an after thought, I know that near are specialist cake shops (ie decorations etc) that hire out cake tins. My step dad hired one in the shape of a bear for my niece one year. Have a look through the yellow page and see if there are any in the neighbourhood you. They may even be able to pass you a recipe.
Nah screw the meal acquire some vodka and strippers on the go. haha!!
Nah... i dont give attention to there is a recipe for a number one cake, basically make a common sponge, chocolate or whatever cake you want and cut it to a number one shape?
enjoy like a buffet near sandwhichs, mini sausages, trifle ect
theres a cake pan at AS SEEN ON TV that you can form all kind of cakes out of! Check it out.

Just make a conventional cake that everyone would like and consequently cut into shape. You might need to receive 2 long cakes and cut one into pieces to generate the top and bottom of the one, then stick together next to cream and cover in icing. Or you could simply go to the shop and buy a catterpillar choc log cake, which everyone will savour just as much and stick a number one candle on top.
hold your party food simple, approaching crisps, dips, sausages, vol u vonts etc, remember it is a childrens party you can get hold of away with it
My son turned 1 surrounded by December 2006, he had two party. One with only just my family, and consequently one that was a pooled party next to friends of his cousin whose birthday is the day after his. I found that the household only group was the best choice! Simply finger foods worked resourcefully for us. I found that baked potato strips, and soft chicken like the chicken fries and french fries from Burger King tolerate the baby nurture himself which left our hand free and made him feel more independant. But it adjectives depends on what your baby is intake and your personal confort levels are beside self feeding. As far as cake go we get a store bought box and used applesauce to make the cake more moist. If you cant find a #1 cake container, cook the cake in a rectangle shaped tub, freeze it, then cut out the shapes needed to breed the number. You can use frosting to hold the pieces together and then frost the entire cake to finish. Good luck and congratulations!
Making a #1 cake is as graceful as baking a sheet cake and carving a 1 out of it (after the cake is completely cooled, it may be much easier to do if you freeze for 1 hour.). Then frosting it.
Use the left over cake to net another desert dish:
Use a glass bowl
Put 1/2 of the cut up cake peices on the bottom, put a cloak of 1/2 a bag of frozen berries tossed beside white sugar (Let sit for 1/2 hour this will create a "jucy" mixture), Mix whipped topping (one small tub)with vanilla yogurt (2 single serving) and put 1/2 lying on the berries. Repeat with remaining ingredients. This looks elegant, and is delecious.
I would suggest serving things your baby like, since it is her birthday..
Homemade Mac and cheese is always a well-mannered idea
Or for lunch you could do cold cuts, near fancy buns, chips, dip, ect.
Happy Birthday Little One!
My son is 1 in 4 weeks, i am so proud! I hold orderd him a number 1 cake from cooplands (it's easier and will taste muuuch better) I am a short time ago going to do a few sandwichs and breadsticks, a small fruit bowl as my son loves fruit, chicken nuggets and a few mini rolls and buns, i am not doing too much most of them are 1 year olds and it will go and get wasted. x
Hope your daughter have a great 1st birthday xx
