12 weeks scan?
Question: how soon after the doctor confirms you are pregnant do you get your communication through the post with your first scan date?
Answers:
Unless your doctor specifically told you that this would appear, then don't expect to automatically carry an appointment!
Lots of people put in the picture their doctor they are pregnant and expect things to happen, but they don't - you unanimously have to do most of it yourself!
Your doctor should put you contained by touch with the local midwives, who will do a booking appointment at around 10 weeks, and will discuss your option for ante natal testing.
What test you have oscillate greatly depending on the area. Not adjectives areas offer a 12 week scan. Some simply do blood tests at 16 weeks, and you might own a dating scan at 15 weeks.
If that is the armour and you want a 12 week scan, you will have to pay cheque to have it done privately.
If 12 week scan are standard in your nouns, then the midwife will get you an appointment and you will get a notification, or you might have to phone call a number to make an appointment.
Don't assume your doctor will do anything for you because probably he won't own!
thats the same answer i'm looking for!!
contained by the UK the midwife comes to do all your resume then books you for a scan,
my midwife phones up the hospital and books it while she is here, but customarily the dating scan is done around 12-16weeks.
so you should really hear by around 10weeks.
but i guess it depends how things are done where you live some surgery's do things different!!
i own only have the dating scan 12-16weeks
then an abnormality scan around 20weeks on the nhs.
Well primarily you have 3 scan, one in every trimester, the doctor should communicate you how far along you are and then you can work it out yourself. I grasp a scan everytime I go to the doctor but I do rate for it myself, I just discern better seeing the little one move..
i,ve just have a baby,i hear about 3 weeks in the past and had my scan at 14 weeks.
Just read the another answer. Please don't make tracks it until 14 weeks to have your first scan - the nuchal fluid try-out (for Downs Syndrome) is very defining and ideally should be carried out at 12/13 weeks. 14 weeks is leaving it deeply late!
Usually take about 3 weeks, depends on your gp and hospital service. It also depends where on earth you live to when you get a routine scan. I live within oldham and they offer a 12 week dating scan plus 20 week growth scan. I work at Huddersfield hospital and they solitary offer 20 week scan.
I confirmed preg near docs at 5weeks, had 'booking' appointment beside MW at 9weeks and got date for my scan the week after. So prob nearly 10weeks I'd say??
I found out that i be pregnant at 5 weeks, went to the midwife who sent adjectives my information off.consequently I waited, and wait, and waited. My scan is subsequent monday and I got the memo for it about 2 weeks ago..not sure if explicitly normal but thats my personal experience! x
My Dr. planned my first scan with my first prenatal appt. at 6 weeks 3 days.
I imagine its usually by about 8 or 9 weeks. I remember geting my scan date and thinking it be ages. It soon comes around! Good luck :)
It's 11-14 weeks,
You have your 1st appointment beside the midwife at 8 weeks where she will thieve bloods.
She then make the booking with the hospital.
They any send you a epistle within a week or she will phone you to permit you know,
But this is only if you own a low risk pregnancy,
If it's high risk you will enjoy a scan at 6-8 weeks
12 weeks
Ages, I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and the doctor looked-for me to have an rash scan as I don't ovulate properly and I don't have a commonplace 28 day cycle. I go to my first midwife appointment and she told me just to hang around until it comes through. I waited so long that I thought I would extension up being historic 12 weeks so in the extremity I rang the anti natal department at my local hospital and they arranged an appointment over the phone for when I be 12 weeks 3 days (turned out I was solely 10 weeks and 5 days).
Don't worry you'll hear up to that time you reach 12 weeks but if you are worried basically give your anti natal department a snatched ring and they'll be happy to relieve.
Good luck
my midwife booked me an appointment when i went for my first drop by i am 9 weeks pregnant and i only go a couple of days ago it all depends on the doctors they adjectives do it different ask your midwife thats really the only agency to know for sure
I'm 10 weeks and had my first appointment next to the midwife about 2 weeks ago. She sent the form past its sell-by date to the hospital and it arrived last week and the scan at the end of my 12th week. I reason it kind of depends on when you fashion the appointment with the midwife really but cant say-so for sure.
you usually get it in the order of 10wks (2wks before your app) if you dont catch it give the hospital a fone
