2 sets of background beside tight-fisted and std deviation for respectively one. I want to sum the 2 money can I sum the 2 std devtns?

Question:

Answers:
no cant sum the 2 std deviations..
just plug surrounded by both sets of data into a graphing calc...
and of late find mean and std deviation. f
no - can't do that - you inevitability to find the sd for the whole information set
I think the miserable will give a miserable deviation close to that if not that of the 2 background sets but a standard deviation that is the be a sign of of the mean deviation is harder to basically ad together and divide by 2, also the spread of the 2 background sets may be different why not freshly include the 2 data sets as 1.?
Or freshly blag it in my experience noone know about what youre trying to do which is assess the meticulousness of the mean contained by regard to how far the responses are deviating from it...so bullsh@@
it worked for me.......
The opening you do this calculation is as follows:
Consider 2 channel p and q with respective standard deviations s(p) and s(q).

If the sum of the manner is w (i.e. w = p + q)

Then the standard deviation of w, s(w) is calculated as follows:
s(w) = [s(p)^2 + s(q)^2]^0.5
Claudeaf has the right answer if the number of reading in the two sample is the same.
No. Do a bit more research into statistics.
