***glass floor within my house what concentration chalice do i use***?

Question:
Hi all im constructing a chalice floor in my home..the panel sizes are 600mm*600mm I own found a supplier of glass who have cert BS-6206 from abroad, what solidity does the glass entail to be laminated to (ie two 12mm glass panels) as the frame builder said 14mm is satisfactory but i hear that this is not the case..also once i bring my glass is it poss to be capable of cut the odd sizes myself..please backing..also im i right in proverb laminated safty glass can be cut. gratefulness all..cup geek

Answers:
If it has be toughened by heat treatment later it might not be possible to cut it without it cracking up. Check beside the supplier. Also if the glass itself cuts OK, the crack may not propagate through the laminating fabric and may delaminate instead. Another reason to contact the supplier for direction.

Does BS6206 not give any guidance on concentration required? If not there might be another BS for chalice flooring.

14 mm sounds a bit thin, but chalice is remarkably strong. My gut feeling is that 2 x 12 mm should be ample on a 600 mm span, but I would get expert direction, not rely on random associates off the internet. The cost of an architectural consultant shouldn't be that elevated compared to the material and installation cost.
